In 2023, in partnership with ngurrak barring, three locally-engaged artists and one artist collective were commissioned to create digital artworks informed by the curatorial theme ‘the sublime forest’. This theme enabled an exploration of the deep cultural and creative history of the Dandenong Ranges and of how these rich historical layers integrate with and illuminate the exquisite natural environment.

The completed artworks are now digitally installed at relevant sites across the mountain range, so that from these locations they may provoke further explorations of the past, while generating connections and inspiring future creations and aspirations.
